hello im sorta new to diy decoy and tanks, and ive made a few things before out of plastic gutter silicone and rocks and i have a new idea to make a paludarium(both water and land) i seen one in the newest issue of tropical fish mag the person made one out of a 45 for his crabs and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on making one any fish and plants, i really want to see if i can put a venius fly trap in with the tank but i still want aggressive fish and crabs any advice is much appreciated thank you

ps i already posted this in the diy section and recieved no resopnses so anything helps thank you

^ Check the planted section for some ideas... you can even check out my paludarium thread in my sig...

Anyway, as a heads up, although i'm not saying you cannot do carnivorous plants in a plaudarium, it will prove to be a challenge, unless you can find a way to house each plant individually so its away from any of the tank / tap water that goes in the tank, as they need to be watered with DISTILLED WATER only, or else you can end up burning / killing their roots really quickly...

Not to mention, with Venus Fly Traps, theres also the added problem of the plant needing to go into dormancy for about 2-3 months out of the year during winter time... which is why i decided to keep my carnivorous plants out of my paludarium...

Anyway, i guess depending on what you want to keep, there are several ways to set one up, just need to work out how large you what exactly you hope to get out of it...
