Hello everyone
Note: I don't live in the US so products such as pond gaurd ans zavlar are not available.
As the title says, I am planing to build a 225 G aquarium, stand two side cupboards on both sides of the aquarium.
I plan on making both the front and back sides 12mm Acrylic sheets, then the bottom and both sides will be plywood.
After reading many posts, build and watching videos I intended to use epoxy resin reinforced with fiberglass on the bottom and seams.
what I am investigating right now is the sealant I am going to use. and what material do I need to use to bond it with Acrylic.
Things I have in hand right now are:
some wood I plan on using to build a small aquarium to test my method before I apply it to the big tank.
2 meter Fiber glass sheet.
I am still searching for an epoxy resin and found that Jotun have a product called Penguard Topcoat, which is an polyamide epoxy resin.
Are all epoxy resins the same?
I found a product called Do-proof , an acrylic based water proofing liquid, which is a elastomeric polymer. It is manufactured locally available in both white and black colors and is cheap 30$ for a 10 KG bucket. So I bought it anyway, I imagined it is similar to zavlar.
Any ideas ?? any help is appreciated.
