So I have recently relocated to Myanmar and I am setting up a monster tank, filtration is difficult to come by but I have found decent options that should provide adequate water cycling. The question now is what am I willing to spend? and what price should I be paying. I visited the lfs today and they have multiple choices for my arow selection. There was a 9" red quoted at roughly $800. They have a gold around 6" that I was quoted at $150, it is labeled as a redXgold but I have always lived in the states and have no experience with identifying asians. Red tail, high back, with predominantly gold scales. I am leaning toward this purchase, unless there is something morally unacceptable that I am unaware of (please do inform me if so, keeping in mind that I am in Myanmar, formally burma). There is a black quoted at $120 and he is around 12".

I would also like to house with a larger pleco, royal or large common. Should I be concerned about arow aggression toward pleco if the pleco is larger? Thank you for the help.

Also being the first time to see so many reds and golds at once is absolutely incredible. The coloration along with high backs is friggin unreal! I would have taken pics but camera was a big "no go" inside store.

So after blazing through the forums here I believe that the fish I am after is an rtg. I am pretty sure that $150 us is a great price, please let me know if I am wrong.

Yeah I would say its a reasonable price for an RTG ... yes RTG is aggressive towards smaller pleco... I'm not into plecos but if yours its an expensive type and not the type that would grow big there might be a risk as your aro grow...

Plecos tend to damage the slime coat of larger fish causing health issues. I'm not 100% sure that it will effect your Aro but it is something to consider

150USd for an rtg is quite cheap :) If your sure that its an rtg, I would go ahead and get it. :)
both rtg and red aro are nice :)

I would love to see any aro you buy... love getting to poke a gander at those beauties!! just have a silver aro here.. typical lol
