Put a baffle of some sort, (like eggcrate) in the path of the output, or make a DIY nozzle for the powerhead to widen the output to reduce the flow velocity.

:duh: I was afraid I would hear i couldn't adjust the output of the head...

I will have to rig it i guess, but maxing the aeration might help as well.. At least I will be able to adjust the power head in the tank during cycling... no stress to fish while I get it right. Me so :screwy:

I have a 70 and you can adjust the flow. Just slide the green tab until the flow is where you want it.

Thats what I was thinking. My Hagen 30 powerhead has a rough adjustment slider & I can turn the intake nozzle for fine adjustment. It even has 1 thru 10 marked on it for reference.
