Help with RTC!

I got him just yesterday and didnt notice anything. I fed him some beefheart this morning and eat it just fine. Now, 8 hours later, he seems to be gasping for air or it looks like hes trying to digest something, im not sure. He's staying in one spot though. ANy thoughts?

I don't know, as I've never had one before.
I think its normal for them to lie around in the same spot. Not sure about the 'gasping for air' part.
Is it fine now?

Yea, he's fine lol. He had me scared though. I've had him for maybe 5 days and I think he already got bigger, loves beefheart. Now if I could get my shovelnose to eat beefheart.

I've heard that RTCs will become seditary when their stomachs are satisfied. They become more active when they are hungry.

how often do you feed him his beef heart and how aggressive is he with it? mines still about 4 inches long and only have had him 3 weeks but its hard to get him to eat... just wondering....

My RTC is still young, he's 3.5inches long and when he see finds the beerfheart on the bottom of the tank, he gets right on it like no tomorrow. He cant all put it in him mouth so he'll grab the cube, swim a little and chump down on it, some beefheart comes off and then he'll try to eat the rest of it. I feed him it like every 2 or 3 days, depending on how big his stomach is

Haha, I like how you refer to the RTC as 'HE'.
Are you sure 'it' is a 'he'?

Idk if its a guy or not, but I view him as a dog in a fish tank lol. I havent seem in 2 days, he came out for a few seconds and holy crap, he got big, like im worried im going to need a new tank sooner then expected lol.

Lol, are you getting a pond or a really big tank for this monster?

Im going to build a flippin huge tank . Theres no way im spending $2500 on a tank. Im not sure what size I want to go with but considering the fish I have, I want to go at least 500gallons.
