help with sex

how can you tell the different between male and female RD?

how big is it? if its around the 15cm(6 inchs) or bigger, i would guess female but i find red devils very tricky as they are all cross's with midas and prolly other similar fish over here in australia

my male red devil has blue speckling all through its tail like a texas but not as bright

thanks, its still very small only about 3" or less, currently in the tank with a pleco, but the RD don't really like any tank mate;
anyone else got an idea what is the sex of this RD?

They aren't real easy to sex. Mine still looks like a male even though it's over 10" and lays eggs. From pictures at 3" most likely it's just going to be a guess by anyone.

yeah definetly too small unless you can vent them at that size? but i dont know much about venting, im sure someone can help you with that
