I posted some pics below but it is still pretty hard to see. basically my pair of convicts have some kind of fungus or something on thieir lips, pectoral fins, and gill plates. At first I thought maybe they were beating on each other, but I have been watching them closely since they had babies and they have not been aggressive towards each other at all. In fact them seem to get along great. I am pretty sure that it is some kind of fungus or rot but I am no expert on disease and thought that I would post on here to see if anybody could tell me what it is, how to treat it, and if the fry can contract it from the parents. Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Most of the pics are of the male because he seems to be suffering the most.

just turn the heat up a little and see what happens and make sure you clean your water and check all water for everything and you should see improvement but if you dont see any discomfort then just let it be with what I suggested.

i cant see anything? is it just ich or something?

It doesn't look like Ich to me. Also it looks better today than it did last night, so maybe it is getting better. I don't know I tend to freak out when my fish are having problems.

I will turn the heat up a little and see what happens. I usually change 25% to 30% twice a week on all my tanks. However I have been very skeptical about changing their water a whole lot as they just had fry. I am trying not to stress them out, and not suck any of the fry up as well.

Thanks for your help, and thanks to you as well Sarah88 you are always very helpful!

haha yeah np sorry i couldnt be more helpful with this one lol GOOD LUCK with the fry though and they should be fine with water changes you just have to be extra careful about not sucking them up

Ok so it turns out that my first assumption was correct. I went down last night to turn their lights off, and got an up close view of convict domestic violence. So when I get off of work today I will be picking up a divider.
