I used to think the problem with silks was inbreeding depression. Now I'm wondering if these hybrids with the solid full body pearl like Thai Silk and EBJD have guanine deposits forming within the body and organs, hardening off and blocking vital functions as they grow.
When he kicks do an autopsy and see if that swim bladder is shiny.
Yeah I completely agree, everyone I’ve ever spoke to who knows Flowerhorns has told me the same thing about Thai silks, I feel like it’s something to do with there breeding for the blue colouring like you said that makes them genetically weak, I’m gonna continue to treat for now but I’m not too hopeful

So it’s gotten even worse than before, he had gotten better for abit but now he has a sore on his upper lip and his hump is very diminished, he looks very sickly and is usually in the corner on his side , what’s the most humane way to euthanize ?

Thanks for the advice I’ve heard of it online but never tried it
Put the fish in a bucket with a gallon of water or more to fit the fish. Add a few drops at a time till it stops breathing.

PLEASE HELP my Flowerhorn bumped his head into powerhead about 2-3 months ago I kept water clean and water perimeters the same the wound healed but my fish was never the same, he has gotten these bubbles on his head and their getting worst his stomach looks a little bloated but he’s always been a fatty his colors look pale as well he always doesn’t look as active, I always do weekly water changes water temp is 85degrees ph is 7
Only thing I changed was that I was feeding humpy head a little prior to cut so don’t know if that caused him to get sick none the less I stopped feeding I have treated him twice with api internal parasite all in one IF ANYBODY COULD HELP ME WITH REASONABLE ADVICE OF ANY MEDICATION I WILL BUY REGARDLESS OF PRICE
