Hey guys, I Need some advice and also I would like to know if what am doing is the right thing.

A couples of weeks ago I noticed the fins of my aro being eaten or breaking, I don’t have any other fish with it, my parameters are 0/0/05, I thought that it might be a case of rot fin but am not sure, a couple of days ago I also noticed small holes in the top and sides of the head, the scales of the fish has some markings too, I don’t know what that is but this is what I did

Up the temp to 86F
Salt treatment
Tetracycline from API

A couple of weeks ago I did a melafix treatment with no success

Should I do something else or what am doing with the salt, tetracycline is ok?

I got some pictures but the quality of the camera and the fish moving don’t help

it looks like your fish has a severe fungus attack which was left untreated for quite long.Melafix doesn't do anything cuz its the fungal bacteria which is eating your fish scales and fins away. You have to check what caused this fungus, maybe u intro'ed feeder fishes or other tankmates or food or uncleaned waste which had already carried the fungus?or maybe it was cultivated in your aquarium due to bad water parameters?Do a 50 per cent water change before u add any medication in(best if possible to get fungus eliminator) and aquarium salt.As the symptoms are severe the fish have be removed from the aquarium and swabbed with a cloth that has been treated with iodine to kill the infection on the fish.Once you put the fish back in,make sure the medication is running and switch off your filter for 2 hours for the medication to take effect.Make sure at this time you have a good oxygen level in your tank for your fish as it will be very stressed.no matter how clean the water looks you still have to do a daily 10 - 20 per cent water change for the next one to two week to let the fungus die out.

thanks , what kind of medication do you reccomend?

I already did a big water change about 65% and added salt +Tetracycline from API today

I have never seen such a condition in a lot of Aro years,,,,
try and do a search in the Arofanatics site.....

Tetracycline is good to eliminate bacteria only,i never heard of it for treating fungus, but it wont hurt trying. You can use Malachite Green to eliminate the fungus.Or you can also try Methylene Blue but be wary as Methylene Blue will stain the silicon in your tank.U have to add in a little more aquarium salt everytime u change the water.Do not change more than 50 per cent anymore,it will stress your fish out which give it a longer time to recover or even go in shock.i reccomend changing 20 per cent every 2 days for the next few weeks until it shows sign of recovery.Do not add medication after you see improvement juz do 10-20 per cent water changes.
