Main tank - 1 green arowana 2ft. 1 pearl arowana 2ft. 20ish tinfoil a few carp and some catfish... Everyone gets on just fine and I've had those two arowanas together for 2 years they are doing well.
I recently got a small blue base XB about 8inch currently and is still in its own tank.
Te plan is to introduce him to the community tank when it gets to about 1.5ft but he is a bit aggressive. Kills any tankmates I've put with it so far.
If I could get some tips on how to train it to be ok to put in to the big tank would be great.
Thanks in advance

You might have had good luck so far, but I would not risk that combo.
thank you for your reply.
just to add i have also had a golden cross back and 3 silver arrowanas with the 2 in the community previously with no incident. so im confident those 2 are quite OK.
im concerned about the new one and how i can prevent it from starting things.

You can not prevent the aggressive BBXB from being aggressive. The only way I can see this working is for you to add a lot of other fish for distraction (dither fish), preferably including a bunch of suitably sized silver arowana and schooling fish like silver dollars. This will help to disperse aggression. You can also add multiple wave makers to dramatically increase the current in the tank. Ideally this will leave the fish too tired from swimming to fight, though fighting will still occur.

Warning though. If your BBXB is a proven killer, it is really unlikely you will somehow "socialize" him. It is more likely he will leave you with a bunch of fish with ragged fins and periodic use of a hospital tank when things get really bad. I would get rid of the BBXB or else keep it alone with some hardy aro tank mates (bichirs, silver dollars, etc.).

I’ve had limited success with putting a see-through divider between him and what your trying to get him not to destroy. It might prove useful. It may take him looking at it for some time before having them give it a go without the barrier. It’s hard to tell if it’ll work…I’d try it for a month. Take the barrier out. If they go at it, put it back up. Wait another month maybe more if there are injuries. It could take a year or maybe less. Maybe more. Or it may never work. it all depends on how long he wants to have that barrier in his face.
