Hi
i just upgraded from a 55 gallon to a 125 gallon and currently have...

1 GT -1''
1 firemouth-3''
1 black convict-3''
1 flowerhorn 5''
1 midas 5''
2 Blood parrots 4''

and want to get some more cichlids so the tank doesnt look empty

I'm wondering how much room I have left to add fish

I am using two magnum 150 canisters and a hob filter

My main question is what fish should I get,
I want to get something that you wouldn't find at petsmart/petco
and stay central/south american

The geophugos eartheaters seem really cool

I have a geo and he is indeed a cool fish. I'm of the opinion, however, that if you aren't already at the capacity of your tank, you soon will be. I have a 125 as well and it's got about the same bio load as you have and I'm leaving it alone. Mine are all babies, but in a year, the tank will look very different. Keep that in mind.

Yea dude really good info here. They are going to grow. Instead of buying more fish, why not buy another filter and some quality food to grow them up fast. Growing those fish is like 6 months and they will be 3x the size. In about a year you will need a bigger tank already so i wouldn't push it.

Yeah more fish and your looking at a lot more maintenance too, more frequent water changes, mech filtration rinsing on the magnums etc.

You have 25" of fish. Why do you think it looks empty?
:D

At least he upgraded from his smaller tank into the 125. He made the right move there. let's just hope he doesn't screw it up by getting more fish =)

lol, its real easy to do that. Many times back in the day I did this and then you dont want to rid of your fish so you get another tank. Thats how you slowly become a crack addict. lol fish crack that is. Next thing you know theirs an earth quake and the tanks come down and you drown in your sleep. Stick to that tank, that fish load, and the advice of these guys. See how it feels later on and you will see what they mean.
