Hello all!

So just recently, my boss had a 75 gallon tank that he no longer needed, so he gave it to me for free! i originally had a 30 gallon tank, so of course i'd take this offer. :) my 30g had 2 black skirt tetras, 2 dojo loaches, 3 panchaxes, and 1 pleco. i gave all of those to my buddy, and started up this new tank, which is currently cycling. i've owned bichirs in the past, and i wanna go back! so my question is, now that i have my 75g tank, how many bichirs can i stock it up with?

i was thinking of getting around...4 bichirs, and since they stay on the bottom, i wanted to get some peacock bass to roam the middle region of the tank. how many peacock bass can i get along with the 4-5 bichirs that i'm already planning to get?

my tank is currently set up with an aquaclear hanging filter, and a submerge powerhead circulating the water around. this will be also be a tiled tank. less clean up for me! :)

any feedback/advise will be greatly appreciated. thank you all for your time/help!

4 bichirs would be ok if you stick to some of the smaller upper jaw species, Senegals being the most common.

A 75 gallon is not big enough for any peacock bass species for an extended period of time.

Post pics of the tile when you have it set up. I love tiled tanks.

damn, i would hate to deprive peacock bass' of their size limitations.. i guess they're out of the picture. how about datnoids? i'm planning on going to home depot right now to purchase a couple of tiles for the tank. ill post pictures once i feel content with my color selection. :D

datnoids are also too large, 4-5 bichirs would be fine for this set up, i'd just recommend sticking to senegals, delhezi, palmas, retropinnis, etc. If you're looking for a main mid level swimmer i'd recommend a severum or another low aggression SA cichlid with some dithers. Mine are in a 75 with a green terror as well but all my fish are relatively juvenile and so far the GT is docile, I'll probably have to move him when he gets larger.
