so hoping by next fall i have the 300gallong tank im saving for, which has 2 overflows in the 2 back corners.... and i plan on making/getting a sump for it, likely a 90gal 48x18x24 should that be large enough ? and likely something like lagauna 2000-2900gph as i dont wanna spend 400+ on just a pump itself...
now im thinking a wet/dry system like this only thing i wanna change is to have the two drain pipes like th attached pic over the drip tray which is where i would have a coarse and fine filter which is cheap and easy to clean/change when needed...

and then for the centre i was thinking of using the remander of seachem pond matrix i have here likely 2-4 litres, and also ive been reading about people saying how bio balls are just a "trap" for nitrates... is this true ? or should i ignore that and just go with bio balls in it like in th video ? and im thinking a section thats 22"Lx18"W(width of the tank) and however high im able to go... will that be enough bio ? i know some sites say 35gallons of water ya need 1 gallon of balls... i wanna my system to handle a HEAVY HEAVY bio load, (not alot of fish just BIIIIG ones)
any help or suggestions would be great
