Help with tank mates

Hi I have a 75 gallon tank an I'm wanting to get some more fish I'll be going to my 125 soon but I have a 7" alligator gar 7" dinosaur Bichir 3-4" jack Dempsey and a 4" pike cichlid I'm just wondering what else would go in without getting eating
 
I know he will an I have a bigger tank for after the 125 I just want everything to grow together
 
I just don't want to set the big tank up I have a 275 just a little big in my living room once they make it there they'll be in my basement itll take them a while till they out grow the 125
 
I would set the tank up now, so if something goes wrong with it you have time to fix it. If you wait, the same thing may happen, except you won't have the time to fix it because your fish need to be in the tank. On top of that bigger fish make a bigger mess when catching them.

That's only if something goes wrong. I'm not trying to say anything will, but it's best to prepare the tank in advance in case something does happen.
 
that alligator gar will not only kill every single one of those tankmates, he's going to outgrow your 275 in probably 1.5-2 years easily. No more tank mates, unless you re-home the gator gar. Everything else should be fine in your 125.

I guess I was reading too fast. All I saw was gar. If I'm not mistaking alligator gar get 5-7ft long. Right now you just need to focus on what to do with the gar.

they can reach that length but in aquaria 4' is the biggest you'll probably see. Even still the potential is there.
