When I was at the cash register, the person accidentally put a container with "50 count Kingworms". They are huge and active...and unfortunately I have nothing to feed them to. So, do I refridgerate them or something?
Kimix;1167250; said:As said above, superworms do indeed die if put in the fridge. They are tropical beetle larva (Zoophobas mario), and will turn into some nice black beetles if you feed them and keep them warm.
and the "grinded wood" you find in mealworm/superworm cups is actully wheat bran. They eat it.
according to the "internet" Superworms actully contin less chitin then regular mealworms, and are actully therfore easier to digest. You will see this on tons of websites, (google seach "Superworms contain chitin") I agree that it seems the other way around, and this could be a internet wide conspirsy to sell more superworms lol
I feed tons of superworms (I go thru 1,000 in two months time off set with crickets and roachs), even to my frogs and have never had any problems from them.
