Hey MFK

I blindly purchased this pump from a lfs for half the retail at amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078H8ML3L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought it because I knew I was going to be using this for at least 4 40g breeders and maybe a couple a of 20s.
My question to anyone out there who has had experience with pumps like this is.... Is the distance or length differences in airline tubing to individual tnks going to affect output?

That is a powerful air pump. I have a old commercial air pump and I use it to fill bike tires, snow blower and riding lawnmower tires. Hopefully it is not to loud.

The sound isnt that bad, we all know that air pumps are loudest when not connected to tanks, and while plugging in raw it is louder than what I am used to.... it will be in the garage and sound will really not be a factor that I can foresee.

My concern is that If I have to put in the corner... will the tanks furthest away suffer from tanks closer to the pump.
I know there are regulator valves and I think I can adjust.... ? Right?

Yes adjust valves until you are satisfied with the output of air to each aquarium.

i would not say that longer airlines inflict to much loss. i have currently three pumps like this one running and havnt noticed any loss in power at all.

and it sure does push some air. i run eight large aircylinders on one of my pumps and 2 30cm airplates on one pump. one of these pumps boils an ibc tote with 800L water with an 30cm airplate:)

I am confident that this pump will full fill my needs, thank you Tobiassorensen Tobiassorensen

The piston type pumps like these are much noisier than diaphragm pumps but do have higher pressures. Most fish rooms prefer high volume - low pressure as the water depth in tanks is usually less than a meter so the diaphragm air pumps are preferred.

If you are worried about equal air pressure, run a central ring loop with bigger diameter (no dead ends) to supply the air. You will still need individual air valves unless all your tanks are the same depth.

Use the manifold that came with it and run each tank / device to a seperate outlet on the manifold. You will have so much extra air flow / pressure that you won't have any trouble powering multiple devices in multiple tanks. You are more likely to have too much air than not enough air to run the farthest tanks.
