need the rating for the uv......... how many gph for the uv to be in the kill zone and large enough for your tank size

then plumb it in, catch the output in a container with a stop watch and see if the flow is correct...adjust from there

Most people do, but are you running the UV in a turbo twist? Those things are great - they maximize exposure to the light as they rush the water around it in a swirl. Get one of those if you dont have it for your UV to increase exposure to the light. Your tank is only 90 gallons, so you dont need to worry about pumping it up too high. I ran a UV on a 90 and I used a small pump, like 150g/h, and it worked very well.

a fast flow rate will make a uv useless
too slow and it will never sterilize the tank

yea, too fast will make it useless, but too slow in a 90 would have to be pretty slow, wouldnt it? Thats not that much water to turn-over. I used mine on like a 150 gph pump and it worked well.

sorry if that wasnt clear in my earlier post - i meant to say that you dot have to worry too much about going to slow because there isnt that much water volume, so you can slow it down and get more exposure to the light, and that I had success with a pump rated at 150g/h.
