Monoculus ;)
I'm using a large rubbermaid storage container to house my earthworms.

Problem is they keep climbing to the top and are managing to fit between the lid and the container.

Any ideas on how I can stop this?

use less dirt

They don't really care for light. Keep a light on over the top of them, and they will stay in. If you can put them where they get sun light during the day and put the light on a timer to come on after dark that will save a few watts.

Only 1/3 is filled with dirt. THey are climbing a long way up =O

I prefer to keep the top on. And I don't want to leave my garage lights on all day. I suppose i could get one of those lights that use batteries and I could stick it to the top.

A clip on desk lamp, or one of these pointed at them:

Buy a battery recharger too, you will go through a LOT of them.

Ya I have a charger already just need to grab some rechargeable aaa batteries

this should work good cause i can jsut stick it to the lid

also do you have small air holes in the lid and how damp is the soil?worms many times try to escape if they are not happy many times its soil to damp not enough air or food and sometimes they just like to climb but if they are doing it in large amounts then i would check on the things mentioned
