Just did a water change which stirred things up a bit. Upon finishing I saw what looked like small hairs in the water, half inch or less, that moved. My little convict started to make a meal out of them. They swim like mosquito larva, coiling and moving. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever fed black worms or tubifex, even frozen? Do they look like this? If so and you had just disturbed the substrate then they are probably one of these. They are harmless and live in the gravel eating bacteria and detritus. They are also great food for small fish, cories and loaches love them.

No, I never have fed worms. Not sure if they look like that or not, didn't see any segments, looked like a hair.
