hi guys,

some idiot online store sent me 2 very small Bala sharks along with a black ghost knifefish!!! this is obviously a very stupid thing to do as the knifefish is a predator. The other reason I'm not to happy is that i expected them to be a reasonable size as I have a baby Arowana and Hujeta Gar and the baby Balas would be a tasty snack to these monsters. Now my question is how long is it going to take for these baby Balas to come off the menu so i can let them swim with the others

:D:D:D

Yep, lots of idiots out there.

you'll probably have to grow em out to near adult size separately since the arrow will grow significantly faster they'll constantly be threatened, idk thats a tough situation

You must try to use flakes for feed them "bala sharks", normally, bala sharks eats and likes flakes, instead, neither Ctenolucius hujeta and black ghost knifefish likes flakes, it depends of your sizes, I had Ctenolucius hujeta of 4 inches that accept flakes but is quickler than bala sharks at feed time. You should be safe that bala sharks aren't eaten for the other monsters, at the moment, you must separate them with one barrier. Good lucky!

ownly prob balas are slow growing unless they have 1000s of gallons  so i suggest you dont divide the tank as the arrow realy does need the swimming room and unless the tank is large and theirs good flow through the divider all the fish could get stunted so i suggest you aither get a large storage box and have a realy good filter on it or buy a pre formed pond and grow the balas in the pond/tub then introduce them when their fully grown and i mean fully grown as the arrow would beat them up as the arrow grows much quicker and bigger :D
