:eek:I have a 2" Oscar and the other day i introduced a little smaller convict cichlid. It is a 50gal tank with a raphal catfish and a baby turttle also, all the fish are bigger than the turttle. The cichlid is the smallest fish and he is constantly chasing the other fish. Will that stress the oscer to death:confused:because i love my oscar and i would rather take the fish back than have a dead oscar. :nilly:

:DThanks

1) take the con back (it will pick on the oscar till the oscar grows a little then bye bye convict)
2) seriously consider getting a bigger tank (oscars get upward of 16")
3) do plenty of research before getting fish

+1

the oscar will outgrow the con in like a week if you feed him a lot. I had the same problem when I first got my oscar. Now he's almost 8" and the acara who used to pick on him is still under 3"

id get rid of the con AND the oscar. The oscar grows fast, and will reach over a foot long and should never be kept in a 55 gallon especially with other fish..

how big does a raphael catfish get?

I have done a lot of research and it all says that con's are recommended for oscars as tank mate's . the raphael cat gets to 9" right now all the fish are around 2" and i plan on up grading to a 150gl in due time. and i dont plan on geting any more fish.
