i just got a 2 inch peacock bass
floated the bag for about 10 minutes
put him in
and like all fish when first introduced
he went straight to the bottom
its been an hour
and hes at the bottom of the tank
gasping for water
should i be worried
this is my second one
and my first one didnt do that
within 10 minutes he was swiming around like normal

well... you should of dripped him into your water params... or acclimated him a lil bit longer... maybe areoun 15-20min.... but there shouldnt be anything wrong not unless you got something in there bigger than him.. and its causing him to stress out?

Watch the other fish in the tank, when they are like that they are really vulnerable to attacks and the like. It should pull around. Its possible that its just overly stressed, or had a little pH shock. Normally when you acclimate then you should add at least a cup of your aquarium water to the bag so the fish can get some what familiar with your parameters. Just floating them in the bag just gets them adjusted to the temperature...;) Hope it pulls around for ya!! Pbass are tough! Should be fine!

I always float bag for at least an hour, adding a cup of water every 15 minutes.

That sucks man.

I know the water params from local stores... So I know if the temp is ok I can just add without a problem. ph probably did it.

That seriously blows. I guess just learn from the mistake. Add water to the bag next time a few times and you should be good. Might have been a sick fish to begin with though....;)

ya im sure it was
because i have 1 from the same tank and the same store in theyre i got him 2 days before
and hes fine
not very active
he hides until he sees food
but im gona go pick 3 up monday from the store
and then i get an extra one cuz the dead one
so itll be ok
u think theyll swim if theyre more in the tank??

they are definitly schooling fish...
