yes
did you get it at a pet store.
did you find in the wild:screwy: need more info

They may acclimate to freshwater but since they are brackish they should be kept in brackish.

I heard someone say that you can acclimate them to freshwater. I saw them at Petsmart. They are called fiddler crabs. Everytime I go there they have them in their tank and they look so cool and Ive always wanted one. I would like to have a setup and include them. I know they require access to land and water. I have a 10g tank and I think they are perfect for me. And my 10g wont remain empty. All I really want to know is how you can acclimate them to freshwater. If they require brackish Im willing to try it for the first time.

All brackish means is you will also be adding some marine salt to the water (when you do water changes, not when topping off evaporation). Other than that it is no big deal. They can acclimate to freshwater, but they won't do as well on it. And the goal should always be the best you can, not whatever is 'good enough'.

I want to try some. Are brackish setups hard? I need info one fiddler crabs and whatever else is needed. Im thinking 2 in a 10g. Upgrading to larger tank after christmas.

I have evrything needed like the tank, filter, heater, and decorations. The filter is a hob filter rated 100 gallons per hour. I have gravel in the tank and I was wondering if I could use it in the setup, if not I can always pick up a couple of packages of sand. I have a huge rock for access out of the water. Im going to test it to make sure it is ok to use in the setup. Im going to be purchasing a new heater as my old on keeps the tank at 79 F. Im going to have to buy a new test kit also. What tests would I need? I don't have an aquarium light, just a regular desk lamp. It provides alot of light. I have been studying about brackish water setups and Im trying to learn everything. I know Im going to have to buy salt and I think Im gonna need other supplies. Im soooo sorry about all the questios and the really long reply, but I want to make sure I learn everything I need to know. If I forgot anything please tell me. Im also gonna post some pics of my 10g thats currently setup as an aquarium.
