Looking for safe,well mannered tankmates to go with my baby Aro,i was thinking Bala Sharks,I.D sharks.Can you guys give me some more ideas??I do want something that grows at least 12".

Possibly due too the attitude of your son towards the hobby, your clearly experienced yourself but the people and fishkeeping skills of Yanker need a little fine tuning. As for tankmates I would consider the larger lower jaw poly's and ornates (personal favourites of mine) and also cichla, dat species and perch species like lates and santaperca.

Is your aro a silver or a jardini? A silver should tolerate tankmates that stay near the bottom fairly well, such as catfish, bichirs (150g+) or rays (300g+). Others the same size as the aro that stay near the middle as well should be fine. As long as they don't fit into the aros mouth.

For a jardini I would stay away from tankmates. I had one that would not tolerate any one else in the tank. I traded him in for an asian RTG.
