i just bought a banded catshark about 3hours ago i drip acclimated him for about 1 hour and half is it normal for him to be breathing heavy for 5min plus. i have 180 gallon all measuremnts are fine. please respond quick

yes i did a 40 percent water change
my nitirtes and nitrates are 0
ammonia is 0
ph is 8.33
salt level is in the little black area idk what it is idrc actually
hes calming down now but still breathing heavy

I would have acclimated longer but it could just be the stress of a new environment. Sometimes I takes a while to adjust.

Doesnt IDRC mean "I dont really care"?

More info....

How long has the tank been running? What other fish are there in the tank? Lights on or off? Airstone?

When you acclimated it, did you have an airstone in the bucket/container? What were the differences between your starting water parameters (water from the store) and your home tank? How was it transported home? In what size container?

How big is the shark?

Is it a catshark or a bamboo shark? (There's no such thing as a banded catshark ;) )
