Should I get a zebra mantis shrimp or a longhorn cowfish? I have room for one or another and i like them all.

Id get the cowfish. Thhe mantis shrimp will basically try to kill everything, and it will kill anything smaller than it.

You can only keep the mantis shrimp solo, but it would be completely worth it. I've never gone salt before, but when I have the extra money to set up more tanks again, I'm getting a mantis

zebra mantis shrimp for 2 good reason's

1. Cowfish have a toxin that when stressed or when the die is released and kill's everything.

2. cowfish don't do well in captivity unless with the expert of aquarist with 400 gallon plus tank and still they not always make it.

i'm pretty sure that i'm not keeping any fish with the mantis, but with the cowfish, if i buy it, i'm kepping it with it's own kind.

There's a higher possibility i'm getting a mantis

Uhh, the cowfish are suppose to be kep in 100 gallon tank or more. Still, i'm pretty sure i'm sticking thhe the mantis

most cowfish that I have seen kept successfully were in big 400+ most people put one in a 100 gallon cause the LFS want's to sell it not really caring much about what it's real need's should be. If you kept it by itself in a 100 gallon maybe you could get away with it but why waste the money on something that is like a 35% surviver in captivity. Zebra mantis are awesome and more personable to me a lot hardier too.
