somewhere in the woods
i have a 4 inch female dovii in the tank w my male i looked at her alil bit ago ...and she looks like se is losen scales and her dorsal anal and tail fins are toreup really bad , i pulled her out into her own tank ...could it have been him nailing her trying to eat or spawn , or maybe something wrong with her ,, any feed back asap ....she seems "ok" it the other tank but got swimming a whole lot

male was probly beating her

What size tank are they in? Put a divider in there in the mean time.

add aquarium salt according to directions and leave her in her own tank until recovery ..and then divider for sure..

they r in a 120 gallon rite now....the female is in the 125 with two jds ....everything is fine in that tank just had me scared thought i might have had a parasite or something she looked d scaled.....i got a bottle of melafix and we r off to the races to fix her...guess ill just leave her in the 125 for a while till she gets some size when try again

When you use melafix the be sure to aerate the water well.

yeah there is plenty of air in the tank ....not the1s time workin w melafix ...remeber i have a dovii...lol...bu tthank you to all of u that helped i think the female is goin to d ok now ...

I am not a fan of Melafix or sodium chloride for injuries. With injuries, it takes clean water for the fins and wounds to recover completely. Do daily water changes in the separate tank where the female dovii is. Don't underestimate the wonders of clean water.

i have been keepin the melafix in it plus doin good water changes to the tank she is looking pretty good .....now to figure out a way to get these to together to spawn and beable to keep each safe too...lol this is work ...lol
