HELP!!!

I finally got my dual glo T5 HO fixture and I plug it in and it lights up but then turns off within 5 seconds??????? I tried a different outlet and the same thing occured what is going on is this defective?

Not that i'm sure... but could it be a loose connection some where, such as the connection between the actual lights and its holder?

sounds like a bad ballast on it

there was a thread recently on thi make sure the bulbs are properly installed and that they are good i believe someone had a bad bulb that was causing this

sounds like the ballast is overheating

are both bulbs turning off at the same time? if so its a bad ballast.

If only one bulb is turning off, switch bulbs. if the problem moves, its a bad bulb.

if the problem didnt move then its a bad fixture or bad individual ballast

i untwisted both bulbs then resecured them in place and it seems to be working okay now. thanks guys

keep an eye on it... wouldnt want it to start smoking when youre not home.
