Just did a water test on 20 gallon tank and my ammonia, is very high and nitrate and nitrite and a little high. I did a water change earlier today and the tank has been set up for a week. Used a used power filter that's been running for over a year now and a sponge filter that's been running over 6 months. I also squeezed the sponge filter multiple times in the last week.

You've got three options:

1. Do large frequent water changes and wait out the cycle -- you're done when Ammonia, Nitrite is zero, and Nitrate is detectable.
2. Borrow seeded media from another filter.
3. Add a bacteria-in-a-bottle that works. I can personally recommend Dr. Tim's One-And-Only. Others may be able to recommend something else.

Either way, you're doing the right thing by frequently testing. You've just to get the tank cycled, and you'll be fine.
