In the water
i have a 10in to 11in peacock bass in my 55. Ive seen other people tanks with peacocks and their very brightly colored. mine is very dull and his black bars are very faded. My nitrate is very high and i know that they are sensitive to that. Any advice on fix my nitrate and get my peacocks color back to normal.

How often are you doing water changes, and what percent? High nitrates means you need to do more water changes. He is probably stressed from the water conditions, and thus faded out. What kind of filtration do you have on the tank? A 55g is much too small for a peacock bass long term, and at 12" he really needs a larger tank. Any chance of upgrading or finding a new home for him?

So the my tank is just to small, my friend has a 250 but he doesn't want a peacock. is their a website wear i could sell him and how much could i get for him.

Right now the best thing for the bass is lots of water changes, that will get the nitrates down. You can make a post on craigslist, not sure how much you can get for it, but the important thing is finding a good home for it.

how big of a tank would i need for a peacock that big

Depends on what species your peacock is. Better figure on something that is at least a 180g 6'x2'x2' tank. Probably will need bigger.
