Help!

well, she finallly did it; my female flowerhorn bit off more than she can chew. i saw her struggling with the dead fish this morning, but i figured she would just chew it up. it's been several hours now, and she hasn't spit it out or swallowed it. i cant just pull out the dead fish because it is an african cichlid and has spines that are already caught. i dont want to hurt her, because her mouth is already extended as far is it can go! WHAT SHOULD I DO???



BTW; she is only just over 5 inches...

you might try wrapping her in a wet cloth, and using nail scossors to cut the dead fish into peices you can remove or the flowerhorn can swollow

id say as above, most u could do is chop it up i suppose.

thank you both sooo much!!! i was able to cut off the spines and use a mixture of twisting and pulling the dead fish to get it out!!! now i just need to make sure she heals/isnt hurt before moving her to another tank.... one where she WONT eat anyone!
