I have a 90g with a Bumblebee cat, an Oscar and 2 Convicts... there WAS a Geo in there also but when I woke up Sunday it was gone. What is the best way to ensure my cat stays fed. I would prefer he not dine on the other fish. Thanks.

Catfish rule #1: If it fits in their mouth, it will get eaten... Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, or maybe a couple months from now.

:)

Edit: Some of my catfish have dined on rocks, a thermometer (I dropped it in for just a moment to get a quick read), tankmates that didn't actually fit down the hatch, etc. It's part of their charm.:hearts:

I thought that the bumblebee cats only get to be around 6 inches? How big was the Geo, and how big is the cat? Jenns right about cats eating whatever fits in their mouth, regardless of if they can swallow or not. (is it an Asian BB?)

There is a species commonly called a Giant Bumble Bee Catfish that gets around 10 inches or more. However, I've seen a lot of things called Bumble Bee Catfish. Without a species name and/or photo, it's hard to say how big this guy could get.

The cat is about 5in long... I think its a S/A or a giant... I will get pics up. This is my fault, when I put the geos in the tank I had a feeling it was not going to turn out well. I rarely see the cat so for some reason he looked smaller when I brought him home. Well at least he is dining on fine cuisine.

Catfish always look smaller until they open their mouth and stuff it full. It's shocking what fits down those things!

WW is sooo right! You'll be amazed how much they work hard to gobble something despite having seemingly small mouths.:WHOA:

I lost a convict today... this is getting expensive...

So you know, I had a pictus catfish that wiped out my entire tank of fancy guppies and such. It was somehow also my wonderful introduction to catfish, upon which my addiction started. Gave me a taste of what MONSTER meant, and taught that I LOVED those smiling, guilty faces.
