Hmmm, interesting. I don't think this would cause this to happen, but do you match the temperature and ph before putting in the new water?

The new water may have something that illicites a feeding response when you put it in.

never matched it with it being ro from lfs i asume it to be fine I sometimes do 10ltl change with no probs before .. Tank size being 46lts 10kg live rock and cleaning shrimp 1 clown and 2hermits

I understand that yes the water itself is fine, the proper level of salt and stuff.

Obviously the temperature of that water can change and most likely is at room temperature when you add it to your tank. Your tank is probably warmer than the surrounding room and this difference in temperature is stressful for fish when the water temperature changes quickly.

The same goes for the PH of the water. PH is dependent on a number of things. Your tank water will have a significantly higher PH than a container of water that is sealed and not being aerated. It really is a good idea to put the new RO water into a container with a heater and a powerhead to let it stabilize the PH and temperature to match your tank before putting it into the tank.
