Hey guys! So i just bought 2 geophagus brasiliensis, a male and a female and the male keeps chasing after the female. Im not sure if its mating behaviors because they appear to be too small to be able to mate yet but is there any way for me to reduce aggression? thankyyou guys:D

What size tank? How big are the fish? You could make a divider out of egg crate material and add some pvc for her to retreat to

I'm not a Geo keeper but the Geo guys will be on at some point to help you out. In the mean time, what size is the tank, how big are the fish, how's the tank decorated, what if anything else is in the tank....ect. Give as much info as you can to make it easier for them to advise you.

tank is a 75, male is about 2 1/2" and the female is 2", tank is bare bottom until i go out and get some gravel or sand, about 2 or 3 hiding spots for them, highly oxygenated, fish also not eating but could be bc theyve only been in the tank for 2 days now,and to be honest i think thats about it.

hi there!!

ok so one of the problems with your tank is you dont have any sand. they love to dig and burrow in it cause thats what they do in the wild. id go and get some sand for the bottom and get food that sinks to the bottom, they like insects and algea but pellets work great too! i hope this helps a little!!
