I dont know if it was my power feeding feeders or the addition of a new piece of driftwood, but I can not figure out why I have a breakout of small snails! Is this bad for my fish?

not bad but more bothersome...probably from your power feedings with the increased food supply.
if you brought your driftwood from an existing running aqaurium this could also be the cause. clown loaches and also great for snail control....
