For some reason overnight my nitrates went up this tank is already cycled and has been running for about 3-4 months I need help on lowering it

It would depend on how how your nitrates are.The higher they are the more water you want to change.

I would do a 50-60% water change, also seeing that your nitrate got that high overnight count your fish and make sure one did not die.

Won't hurt to test nitrate level in source water, make sure nothing weird happening to source water.
