Hey guys i recently purchased three 4~in silver arowana from reef in anaheim. They all ate their mealworms but they are being very agressive and have been nibbling but nothing too bad. Any one know how i may solve this problem? tank is 300g with twin tower overflows to a wet/dry. temp is at 86 F

best to separate them at that size. I have found that they will go through a nipping/territorial phase to determine pecking order, but they eventually mellow out

If you separate them, there is no turning back.

Lover the temps.

Add in some powerheads to get things moving faster in the tank.

In a tank thst size you should be able to provide each with their own territories. Just add lots of floating plants to break up site lines. Others have used strong current to curb aggressive tendoncys. I would wait untill bigger for that though.

If you have to separate, there is still a chance of getting them back together, my four were all added after they were 16" or larger at diff

i agree drop the temp to about 78-80 and add more current. i have had 20" silvers and thay loved to swim together but i had about 4kgph movement with 4 large power heads thay seam to like it alot and that was in my 220

Young silver at the size of the OP are better kept in 83-84 degree temps. Also at that size heavy current easily overwelms the arowana, further stressing it. Proper care should be the number one priority, keeping them in a communities comes second.

i have never had smalls ones that is good to know thanks ^^
