I am trying to take my aquarium apart for a new-build but apparently the guy who built this never thought about it being rebuilt my problem is the glass thickness is half inch and the silicone thickness Is about that of a razor blade i keep breaking the razor blade is there something that will dissolve the silicone?

Fishing line will work also in that situation. It's how I cheated since I tried to slit my own wrist once. Mono filament. Nothing braided. Guitar string works, but you have to have some on hand.

Flip the tank over and remove the bottom first, it makes life alot easier. No there is nothing that will desolate the silicone just remove the inner seal on the tank and keep going around the bottom with the razor blade you will find a spot that is a little wider gap and that is where you start. I also use straight razor blades they are thinner and easier to take the tank apart with

Good advise. I often debating using piano wire or those thin metal strands that you see butchers/deli's cutting meat and cheeses with. Maybe I'm crazy, seems like it could be effective though.

try a skinny putty knife, im taking my 320 apart right now, its 1/2" thick with lots of bracing. I wasn't having much luck with the razor blades either but I got alot of it apart with the putty knife before I started to bend it. Going to grab another and finish

Only thing I will mention is that on smaller tanks where they don't have 1/32 of Silicon in the seams, a puddy knife might crack the glass as it causes to much pressure. I cracked the bottom of a 125 doing that. What I do now if I have to is get a corner seperated so you get get a shim in to help spread the seam
