Wondering if this is the start of hole in the head or not? I do water changes every three days at least 50% and the fish doesn’t appear to be any distress what do you think?
In the wild Oscar's do a lot of hunting at the waters surface for bugs. The layout of their body all helps in this. They also have a lot of sensory pits all about their face area to help in the hunt of said bugs. These pits are on groups of five or so in a ring. Toni really started getting these as she got bigger.
They look the same as the sensory pits just your O is a normal tiger vs Toni being a lutino O.
You can change all the water you want and still have nitrate issues. Do you test? If so what are the results? You need to test new and tank water. I know its not the only reason for or even fully considered a main cause in hith but its a good indicator.
