One of my ctenopomas is really sick! It came down with ich maybe two weeks ago, and I treated it okay, the ich was pretty much gone when something else happened. It stopped eating, it's breathing heavily, and it lies on the bottom or rests in a plant quite often. It's been doing this for maybe 5-6 days now. I thought at first that the ich had stressed it out too much because I read that these fish are sensitive and kind of prone to disease. But the other ctenopoma, and all the other fish for that matter, are doing fine, no ich or anything. The sick fish also looks kind of fat considering that it isn't eating. It's scales look a little rough (dropsy?) but there is a white coloration between some of the rough scales. If it IS dropsy, can I treat it in the same tank since I have no hospital tank or is that dangerous/stressful for the other fish?

If it IS too late for the poor little guy, can anyone give me info on using clove oil to euthanize it? It's been sick for long enough. I would have treated it sooner, but I thought he was on his way out from ich/stress. :(
