Was advised by my local aquarium store that in order to eliminate fungus in my harlequin tusks fin i should cut/trim has anyone ever done this? Is it effective to gettung rid of this issue

Sounds incorrect to me. Why not use anti-fungus medication? I imagine cutting fin would cause injury/stress to the fish making the issue worse.

Thats terrible advice. If fungus is eating away at the ends of the fins, by cutting them shorter your just leaving open wounds on the now fresh fin ends for fungus to attack evem more efficiently. Get the fungus in your water in order and the fins should clear themselves
