I've only been able to find a bit of info on this catfish, but it sounds like it really embodies the monster spirit...

What I know: Violent, can only be kept by itself in most cases, and requires a very sturdy environment. Big, up to 3 feet in the wild.

... And that's really about it. I found someone who can get me one, but I don't know how quickly they grow, or how large they typically are when they begin to exhibit their territorial, predacious nature. I'd really like to get one just large enough to go in with my TSN for now, and then relocate him to his own tank when the necessity arises (sucks putting a 5" fish in his own 240, ja?). But I'd really like to know more before I commit myself to anything.

ive only had one,so i can only tell you that it was aggressive from the start.2 inches.
i wouldnt put it with the TSN.
mine grew at 1-2 inches per month until a foot i think.
then i sold it.

I have one. Still growing. Needs to live in the sump, because it is wild.....
