I have a pair in a 40 gal breeder with a tiger tilipia , i am trying to get these guys to breed but i do not seem to have any luck can anybody help me out, what type of food, temperature , etc.

Hmm, looks like you have the chance to become the MFK expert on them if you can get them to breed. Then you can educate us. I've never had more than one elongatus at a time. I also had bad luck trying to get my first batch of frempongis to spawn, hopefully I'll have better luck with the 3 I have now.

How big are your's? I'm not sure I know exactly what a tiger tilapia is. How big is it, and how is it interacting with your 5-Stars?

here is a pic of my pair , i just turned up the heater and the female tube is hanging out so it seems like there about to breed the only thing i do not like is that the are real picky eater what do u feed yours

as far as the tiger tilipia , its a tilapia marie and its smaller then the five star, i was using it as a target fish and it hides out all day

Nice, congrats on the breeding, looks like a great pair. Hopefully you will get some good growouts.

I've only had my current fremongis since June I think. The only live food I ever feed them is small redworms a couple of times. I feed them Hikari Bio Gold mimi pelletes, Omega One flakes and pellets. Tetra Cichlid and Tetra Color flakes, New Life Spectrum, krill, mysis, and brine shrimp. Oh, and HBH Super Soft krill pells.

Nice looking breeders!

It took me a year and a half to get my frempongi to spawn. I really didn't do anything special. They had a 75gal to themselves.
