Cant really find alot of info on these...Im into Central and South American but these guys caught my eye. They are one of the crazyiest africans out there. im gonna start looking for a pair and i thought i would get some info on these.

I haven't seen these available in a very long time. These fish can be pretty tuff. They like the same water parameters as the americans. Another similar one that you can find is the Hemichromis Elongatus.
Be carefull on the tank mates you select with this fish. These guys can be pretty nasty from what I read. I think there's even a guy in here that has one. He said it ripped a 9" and a 7" dovii in pieces. The Fasciatus was only 5".
Let me know if you find them though =) My favorite fish are the Hemichromis species. I'd love to get some. Only have 2 F1 H. Elongatus right now. I'll be getting about 5-6 WC here in a couple of weeks.

Good hunting!

These guys are very hard to find if u can find at all , i had found some last year and was only down to one before he died when the power went out , he was a beast though. I could not keep him with nothing except a grammode and the grammode killed everything but him and i tried a pair of full grown tilipia he beat them to near death, these guy are piscovores and i love to watch them eat and hunt

Thanks for the info everyone... The seem like a very aggressive fish. Just the kinda fish i like. i will be on the hunt for these guys and will keep everyone updated if i do find some.

I was breeding them like two years back but got two wild pair on the way they come in on monday:headbang2 got pic's of my old pair
