First off, i'm not sure if i'm in the right thread but here goes anyway.

About 2 years ago I acquired some of these rare species and was warned of their aggressive nature. Raising doviis, umbies and haitiensis in the past i figure that i would have no problem handling these little guys. Boy was i wrong. They are by far, the meaniest little monsters i have ever kept. After shredding my 9 and 7 inch dovii and umbee (respectively) literally to pieces i had to isolate him at only 5 inches. I had a male and female which never really paired up and eventually died because of my lack of attention which i fully regret to this day.

Just wondering if any of you guys care to share your stories and if they are this tempermental by nature or was it just mine and if you know where i could get some i would appreciate it.

How big is your tank? From my hemichromis expierence, it all depends on the fish. Some are chillax, others will kill everything in sight. I have 2 H. Elongatus that I purchased from Rapps about 2 weeks ago, the ones I have are hella chill, the ones that my LFS had about 2 months ago, were tearin their tank mates up. One of them was kickin the crap out of a black belt that was about 7", the Elongatus was no bigger than 2.5". So it all varies.
Let me know if your gonna get rid of them, I'd be interested in buying them off you.
