I just got a dozen or so of these guys today. They arrived in mail and are adjusting well in my 40 gal breeder pics to come soon and hopefully i can get a pair. The are healthy and eating already
I'm thinking one of my WC H. Elongatus might be hemichromis fascutus. He's grown faster than the rest, and the stripe down the middle hasn't went away. He's super aggressive and has already killed 4 of my H. Frempongi. Do you know how to tell the difference?
well Elongatus is the easiest to tell but its hard to tell when they small but elongatus is totally different color then the other two its body is yellow brown and when its matures and is ready to breed its deep blue. To tell frempongi and fasciatus apart is by the spots frempongi has no marks between the spots while fasciatus does have dots between the spots what size tank u got them in?
I have them all in a 125g right now. I'm in the process of getting a 40g setup tonight. I just got done painting the stand. Going to paint the back of the tank then try to set it up tonite. What your water parameters for your breeding H. Elongatus?
