i am still looking for infomation on this fish so if anyone knows info or has any experience with them feel free to share

i love the hemichromis genus. did you get those locally or from rapps? i heard they are still kind of hard to find. are they supposed to be just as mean as fasciutus?

I found a little information on these,
Very similar in habits to H. fasciatus, max size depends on who you believe, 9.2 cm.-14cm.,
Found only in Lake Bosumbi, Ghana, and the streams that feed it. a predator on small fish and inverts. One of the at least three fish sold as banded jewel fish. Likes 23-25 degree C. water, 7 ph, and a water hardness 15. A nest defending egg layer.

Really? so even a 8 inch jardini would have trouble with it? I am thinking about getting some.

you would buy the cichlid at 2-4" length, and the cichlid would take roughly 2 years to reach 8". The jardini will be 2 feet long by that time, and would have swallowed the cichlid ages before that. if you want to feed the jardini an expensive food item, go for it.

i bought him locally the place has 15 to 20 more at 14.99 each about 2 inches in londonderry nh
