Can anybody tell me what species of hemichromis these are and/or sex them? They're 1.5 inches. To be honest i'm not even 100% sure that they are the same species even though they came from the same tank (fish from the 1st pic doesn't have a dorsal spot?). I was hoping for 2 females and 1 male but judging by their behavior i believe that pic #2 is the only female. Each picture is of a different fish. They're all still pretty chubby from a ghost shrimp feeding earlier today, so don't worry, it's not bloat.

PS- third fish is largest and sems to be beginning to establish dominance

I had 8 from this size up to now (4-5"). I still can't tell, the males seem to have the bump on the head, and I noticed the females slightly smaller and a redder throat. From what I have read and from the photos above they look like H Bimaculatus of some sort of hybrid.

Voracious eaters, typical aggression, especially around breeding time.

I don't see any details that would jump out and scream anything other than the common jewel, H. guttatus. Most commerical strains are a mix of H. guttatus locations and thus aren't all uniform.
