henlie stingers

okay, my female henlie ray has what looks like two stingers staggered on top of one another. I noticed though the one on top is white now as if the color has come off of it. (about an inch of the stinger is white). She is not acting different, appetite is good, does not seem to be stress, no one bother her and there is no pleco in tank. Has anyone seen this before???

All the time. The top one will almost certainly be shed in a day or two, it's totally normal for a bit of the base of the stinger to be white just prior to it being shed.

yep yep. they shed there stingers. sometimes they could have up to 3 at diffrent stages.

just make sure you get it out of the tank after its shed...

The tissue surrounding the old stinger starts to die and fall off of the stinger just before it is shead. As stated, it starts at the base of the stinger.

Take care getting the stinger out as you can still get envenomated after the shed...I boil mine up utter netting out.
