Eh... i be buying a 5ft long, 2.5 wide, 2.5 tall tank tank soon but i have been pondering on what kind of filtration should i use??

Any suggestions?? canister filter, sump tank or top filter??

in my new tank, the members will be RTG. endis and dats....

cannister............less work.......less visable.....less nose(sometimes).......JUST LESS!

I LOVE my wet/dry. Its SUPER easy to maintain and does a great job. All i can hear from it is the whir of the pump, which isnt bad at all.

cannisters are great but if you want to spend a lil more wet/dry is the way to go

Oooo... eh... may i know how a wet/dry works.... any pictures to show..... hehe... no knowledge of this... sorry dudes...

So conclusion is that wet/dry is better is it?? or u guys have other opinions..

I'm too broke/lazy/mechanically dumb to set up a wet/dry, so I love my cannisters. But someday when the wife and I buy our own house I'm going to build a sweet drip setup.

I am a big fan or wet/dry filters.

Heres how it works. Water from the tank flows to a drip plate over a biological chamber (either bio ball or something else with alot of surface area for nitrifying bacteria to grow on) the drip plate makes the water flow evenly over the biological media. Then the water can pass through whatever other submerged media you want like sponge, lava rock, or filter fiber, ect. You can also put heaters in the sump instead of your tank to keep your fish from breaking them, and keeping them out of sight. Then the water is pumped back up to the main tank and the cycle is repeated. You can also put a fluid bed filter inside your sump to further increase biological filteration.

ok where can u buy when and dry? i have never know this or actually i have never seen apic of them
